Whelp Watch

She's due in 12 days. This will be my third litter this year.

Right now, I have her on a limited bandwidth stream, because Katie and her puppies are on my Mare Stare stream, but as she gets closer to her due date, I'll put both webcams on her.

Sparkle is now in the house in her whelping box most of the day and all night. She sleeps 99% of the time. She's already declining food, so I will start fixing chicken for her (that usually does the trick). I'll start taking her temp twice a day in about five days.

This is her first litter. She'll be having blacks and yellows. She's not real big, so I'm thinking this will be a smaller litter.

Im going to leave the cam on as I sleep tonight to keep an eye on her! Shes so cute

As you can see, Sparkle is sleeping a great deal, but is still energetic when she goes outside. She's enjoying daily tummy rubs, and started digging yesterday. I don't expect her to go early. We've started daily temps.

Yesterday while she was sleeping she could see the puppies moving around in her tummy.
Dian is she due 10/3 as the screen next to the cam says 7 days away so want to make sure I have the correct day.

Good morning!

Sparkle was bred three times. The countdown clock on my website is counting down to the 5th, since that was the day I *think* was her best breeding day. However, her first breeding puts the first due date on the 3rd.

Temp this AM was 100.8 I like to take temps for a full week before they're due, both morning and night, but I started just a bit late this time. I think my mind is set on the 5th. We'll see what Sparkle thinks about that.
